The one thing that makes this course a challenge are the greens. Protected by sand traps in the front of most holes, you must get the right club in your hands, because coming up short will lead to a bogey for sure. The course plays longer than it say's. you will have a long iron second shot into most greens. anywhere from a 7iron to a 5 iron and I am longer than most off the tee.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Best course in the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

I love playing AVCC. Very challenging - especially when the wind is up. Very mature course with lots of graet history (photo of Ben Hogan teaching on the range). THE BEST PRACTICE FACILITY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!!

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy

It's January in CA and I am playing golf! The course is very well maintained, and the the friendly and most courtious staff go out of their way to remembers my name. The instructors are very knowledgeable, friendly, and in a matter of weeks have taken several strokes off of my wifes game. This has made her enjoy the game more which in turn allows me to play even more golf! Need I say more?
